The purpose of this SPC is to advise and assist the Local Authority on the development of policy in the areas of Roads, Planning and Emergency Services for County Roscommon. This includes the following:
Roads and Transportation
Includes bye laws for development and management of cemeteries, road maintenance and improvement policies, local improvement schemes and road safety issues.
Planning
County Development Plan, Development Plans, Local Area Plans and Strategy’s in respect of regional, spatial and economic strategies
Emergency Services
Functions of Emergency Services include major emergency management and fire and emergency management.
